Global Health Education and Community Services

THINK GLOBALLY, ACT EVERYWHERE...
Experience global health with the Northwestern University Department of Family and Community Medicine, Global Health Education and Community Services Program. The GHECS program recognizes global health as an important local and global phenomenon. We encourage Feinberg medical students to experience health education in low resource settings abroad and in Chicago.

We provide diverse global health activities for Northwestern University Feinberg students, including research and community service opportunities, educational seminars, workshops, courses, and other global health-related events. We encourage a dual focus on education and community service by providing strong academic support for public health projects and clinical rotations with a consistent focus on positive impact in the communities where we work.
We invite students who are interested in working in community clinics abroad to contact us for more information. We also welcome contact from students interested in careers in global health, family medicine, and community medicine. If you would like to complete a community service, public health project or clinical rotation in a community clinic in Chicago or abroad, please contact us.
