Letter from the Chair: 2022-2023 Residency Recruitment and Interview Season

Family Medicine Applicants,

We're excited to meet the next generation of family physicians!

Please note McGaw Northwestern Family Medicine residency programs will only offer virtual interviews during the 2022-2023 Match season due to guidance provided by the Association of American Medical Colleges, the Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors and the American Academy of Family Physicians. We’re committed to ensuring a safe and equitable experience for all candidates and promise to provide students with a positive virtual interview!

We’ve created informative videos showcasing resident life, our curriculum, our facilities, and, most importantly, introducing you to our family.  While we have been able to resume many of our in-person activities, including didactics and wellness sessions, we continue to offer virtual components for all three of our residency programs, including our social justice curriculum, telehealth, and some routine meetings. We are proud to report we have passed the internet test with flying colors and can’t wait to meet you virtually. The interview date range for our programs are October through January with interviews being conducted virtually. Our plan is to also conduct several post-interview second look events in 2023 to give you the chance to meet us before you make your program decisions.  These events will be entirely optional and will have no impact on our selection processes.
