Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital (Geneva)
As the primary residency training site, Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital provides an exceptional learning environment. Located in Geneva, Illinois, this 159-bed acute care teaching hospital primarily serves Kane County, with a particular focus on communities in the central region of the county and the western suburbs of Chicago.
Family Medicine residents work alongside dedicated faculty and manage their own inpatient service, gaining hands-on experience in the evaluation and treatment of acutely ill hospitalized patients. Residents benefit from exposure to a diverse patient population and collaborate with a medical staff of nearly 600 physicians representing 80 specialties. Delnor Hospital is also home to a regionally recognized, state-of-the-art Cancer Center and Breast Health Center, providing advanced specialty care and enriching educational opportunities through multidisciplinary patient care and collaboration.
Residents also rotate through the Emergency Department, where they gain extensive experience in the acute management of emergent and life-threatening conditions, develop procedural skills, and care for critically ill patients. On Labor and Delivery, Family Medicine residents evaluate patients in triage, manage labor, participate in deliveries, and provide postpartum care.
As part of Northwestern Medicine, Delnor Hospital offers patients access to leading-edge clinical trials through Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, fostering an environment of world-class patient care, academic inquiry, and innovative research. This integration enhances the resident learning experience by providing exposure to evidence-based medicine, multidisciplinary collaboration, and advances in clinical care.
